Arts council calls for entries

Newton — The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council is seeking entries for its next art exhibit, Past & Present. Artists are encouraged to enter work that was created in the past and in contrast, a piece that is current. Then, to bring the completed prospectus, art work framed and ready to be hung and entry fee to the council at 137 Spring St. in Newton, on Sunday, Jan. 11, from noon to 3 p.m. or on Monday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All work must be framed and ready to be exhibited or it will not be accepted into the show. Membership status must be current for work to be eligible for the show. The council retains a 25 percent commission from all sales. The artists’ opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. Work must be picked up on Sunday, Feb. 22 from noon to 3 p.m. or Monday, Feb. 23, from 9 to 3 p.m. For more information call the council at 973-383-0027 or visit www.scahc.org, where you can download the prospectus.
