Newton — The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council will host a book signing on Saturday, May 2 at the council’s gallery, at 133 Spring St. in Newton, from 1 to 3 p.m. Ladean Warner, a Newton native, will be selling and signing copies of her new suspense novel, “The Keeper of Darkness.” This is her first published book, available at bookstores nationwide. Set in upstate New York, just outside of Saratoga Springs, it tells the story of a former detective, Jake Peterson, who is drawn somewhat reluctantly into a murder case when it comes too close for comfort.
