West Milford — The Maple Road Elementary School Drama Club will present Beauty and the Beast Jr. May 29 and 30, at the school. This show continues the tradition that began in 1996 when sixth grade teacher, Thomas Antonucci, started the club. Since then, the club has produced over 20 musicals, some in class, some just for students, and still others for the general public. Last year’s Aladdin Jr. was an inspiration for the other elementary schools, including Greenwood Lake School, whose Drama Club put on its first musical this year, “Rats,” after seeing the success of Aladdin. The students raise their own money to put on the plays. This year they hosted a beefsteak dinner. The cast and crew members sell boosters and also raise money from concession sales and from the sale of tickets. For ticket information call Elizabeth at 973-865-0309.
