Vernon — The Bartsch Family, longtime residents of Vernon, have been involved in numerous community activities for the past 20 years, and now the community is pitching in to help them. Glenn Bartsch, a father of five, has been diagnosed with a rare bone marrow disorder called pure red cell aplasia, and has been out of work for some time. To assist the family, a beefsteak dinner and tricky tray will be held on Friday, April 24, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Legends Resort in Vernon. Entertainment will include a DJ and there will be a cash bar. Tickets are $40 per person and $75 per couple. Call Steve Fitzsimmons at 973-702-2456 for tickets or e-mail FriendsofGBartsch@gmail.com for information on contributing to the tricky tray or making a donation.
