Call to artists for 'Open and Closed Spaces' exhibit

| 24 Jan 2014 | 03:11

The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council presents a call to artists for the upcoming exhibit “Open and Closed Spaces”. Artists may enter works of art related to this theme in any medium if they are members. Non-members who become members before the show can also enter their art.

The exhibit will celebrate creative freedom. Is there a mystery to an open space? ...to a closed one? Let the art tell a story of light, shadow, substance, enclosures, openings, dimensions large or small.

The exhibit will run from Feb. 15 to March 8. Opening reception will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. Artists may drop off their work at the council’s office on Sunday, Feb. 2, noon to 3 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 4, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The SCAHC gallery/office is located at 133 Spring Street, Newton. For more information call 937-383-0027.

Prospectus and member enrollment can be found at the SCAHC web site at www.scahc.org, or at the council’s office.
