SPARTA — The Cornerstone Playhouse will launch its 2010 season with “Honk Jr.,” an adaptation of the original off-broadway adult cast of “Honk,” but performed only with children and young adult performers. The show is based on a contemporary telling of Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Ugly Duckling” set to music. “Honk” beat out “Lion King” for the Olivier award and is written by the same team that put “Mary Poppins” on stage. “Honk Jr.” is filled with “the adventures of finding out that being different is okay and that at the end of the day someone will love you.” Auditions are open to all children from age seven through high school and will take place in the Mohawk room at the Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta on Feb. 16 and 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. Performance dates are scheduled for April 15 to 18 at the country club.
