Choral concert will feature ‘Ceremony of Carols'

    HACKETTSTOWN - The Centenary Stage Company presents the Pocono Choral Society (PCS) on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. in Centenary’s Whitney Chapel in Hackettstown. The concert program will include “Ceremony of Carols” by Benjamin Britten, a work for choral voices, soloists and harp, and “Carols and Lullabies” (Christmas in the Southwest) by Conrad Susa, for choral voices, harp, guitar and marimba. The concert will be conducted by Jerrold Fisher of New York City, and Julliard’s Tomoko Kawamukai will provide piano accompaniment and harp instrumentals. PCS has performed throughout the region for years, with performances in New York City and Atlantic City. In 1984, PCS toured Europe, giving concerts in four different countries, and in 1992, the choral society sang throughout Nova Scotia. The group toured and performed throughout the British Isles in 1996 and in 2001 toured and performed in Scandinavia. Tickets for the Pocono Choral Society concert are $10 for adults, $8 seniors and students, and are available through the Centenary Stage Company Box Office at 908-979-0900 as well as at the door on the day of the performance.
