Christian rock band will perform

Newton — Awakening, a Christian Rock Band from Easton, Pa., will present a concert from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the First United Methodist Church. Awakening is a professional group led by Adam Jared Tavolaro, former director of music ministries of the Newton church. Kathleen Meredith, of Andover, is a member of the band. The fundraiser is sponsored by the church’s ChristCare groups. This is an inter-generational event open to the public. Refreshments will be available at intermission.
