College will host ‘Cool Creatures, Hot Planet'

    Newton — Building on the momentum from his book “Cool Creatures, Hot Planet,” Marty Essen is traveling the United States with a digital slide show of the seven continents, making a stop at Sussex County Community College, on Tuesday, April 21 at 10:50 a.m. in the Student Center Theater, Building D. The show chronicles Essen’s adventures with rare and interesting wildlife, which included being stung by one of the world’s most venomous insects, bitten by a poisonous snake, being surrounded by wolves and attacked by a hippo. The book has won three first-place awards of travel/essay writing: the 2007 Benjamin Franklin Award, the National Indie Excellence Book Award and the Best Books 2006 Book Award.
