Vernon — Brielle Crowe, The Dance Expression Dance Company, dancers from Vernon High School and Friends of Lou Cimaglia and Family are joining forces on March 6 to stage a benefit dance concert at Vernon High to support the Cimaglia Family Healing Fund. Organizers of the event say the concert will celebrate life and hope. Tickets are available for $15 at the door or in advance at Dance Expression in Hamburg. All proceeds will be donated to the Cimaglia Family Healing Fund. For information on the concert or to make a private donation to the fund call Dance Expression at 973-823-9500. Lou Cimaglia grew up in Vernon. He graduated from Vernon High in 2004 and went on to earn a degree in social work from Monmouth University, where he was enrolled in a graduate program, when on Nov. 21, 2008, he was involved in a serious car accident that left him in need of extensive medical care and rehabilitation. Cimaglia, now 22, had worked at Milanos Restaurant in McAfee to help support his school expenses. Many area residents came to know him over the years. While at Vernon High he earned a Varsity letter as a member of the track team. Those who know Lou were not surprised at his interest in becoming a social worker. They saw this desire to help others in every aspect of his life. Now community members have gathered to help him and his family get through the difficult times.
