Byram — KEEP’s annual Kamikaze Cook-off, hosted by the East Tokyo Japanese Restaurant in Byram, is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 11. Benefiting the children and programs of KEEP, Sussex County’s oldest and largest childcare provider, participants will be dining on shrimp, beef and chicken prepared hibachi-style by guest chefs, including Maria Lake of WSUS-FM. “It is not often that you happen upon an event that is this much fun and still raises a lot of money. It is difficult to be heard above the laughter and banter. Of course, we contribute some gag gifts and play a couple of pranks to help everyone get started, but it takes no time for everyone to become totally immersed in good food, good company, and a good time — all for a very good cause.” said Tricia A. Smith, CEO. Tickets are still available on a limited basis—either for an individual ($55/person) or for a table of 10, including the chef.
