Council calls for entries

    Newton — The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council is calling for entries for its regional juried art exhibition and sale, Skylands. The deadline for entry is March 27. All fine artists and photographers in the tri-state area are welcome to apply for entry. For 22 years, Skylands has provided a venue for established and emerging artist to compete for up to $3,000 awarded in cash prizes. This juried exhibition continues to present a discriminating selection of talented local and regional artists working in all media. The exhibition will be held at the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council Gallery located at 137 Spring Street in Newton, from May 9 to May 30. This year’s Skylands will be juried for entry by Dr. Nancy Einreinhofer, director of Ben Shahn Galleries, William Paterson University. She holds a Ph.D. in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester, England. An expert on contemporary art, she has curated more than 60 exhibitions exploring various media and philosophies.
