County Art Council calls for artists

    Newton — The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council is now accepting entries for its next exhibit, “People,” scenes including people, documentaries and studies of or about people. All mediums will be accepted. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme creatively without boundaries of the theme title. The registration deadline is Monday, Jan. 11, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drop-off dates are Sunday, Jan. 10, noon to 3 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 11, 9 to 3 p.m. at the Arts Council’s gallery/office, at 133 Spring St., in Newton. Work will be on view through Feb. 13. The opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16, 4 to 6 p.m., weather permitting. Featured artist, photographer Rob Yascovic, will be showcasing his work documenting the New Jersey State Fair. Owner of Yaskovic Wedding + Portrait, he has been a professional photographer for over eight years with work appearing in The New Jersey Herald, The Daily Record, The New York Times and Food Network TV Magazine.
