Vernon — St. Francis De Sales Parish Family Life Center will host a beefsteak dinner, to benefit Jim DiZenzo, on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 7 to 11 p.m. DiZenzo had a bilateral lung transplant on June 12 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. After spending a month in ICU he was released on July 13. For the last six weeks he has been going through an extensive rehabilitation program in Philadelphia. Money raised will help defray medical expenses and loss of income. Catering will be provided by The Brownstone. The menu will include cold antipasto, penne in a tomato basil sauce and sliced beef tenderloin. Global Productions will provide music. The evening will also include a tricky tray and a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $45 per person (includes beer, wine and soda) and are being sold at both St. Francis De Sales Parish Office and the Vernon PAL Building. For full tables of 10, all 10 tickets must be purchased at the same time. If you cannot attend, but would like to make a donation, make the check payable to Vernon Rotary/DiZenzo Fund and mail to Vernon Rotary c/o David Gornstein, 1 Glenview Lane, Sussex, NJ 07461.
