NEWTON — Andre’s Restaurant and TraillWorks are collaborating in an effort to support Katie’s House, a home for young adults with developmental disabilities. For a limited time, when you eat at Andre’s Restaurant, and then purchase art from TraillWorks, you will be helping the residents of Katie’s House. For every purchase of art by a client of Andre’s Restaurant, TraillWorks will donate 10 percent to Katie’s House. Katie’s House was founded in 2001 by Evelyn and Conrad Dudziec, parents of developmentally disabled Katie. They saw that in New Jersey, most young adults end up living in sheltered workshops with adults who were mostly over fifty, and not necessarily on the same functioning level as them. So they founded Katie’s House, where young adults with developmental disabilities can be with those at a similar age and level of functioning so they can connect and gain support. Katie’s House is a non-profit organization. For more information go to www.katieshouse.org Andre’s is located at 188 Spring Street in Newton. TraillWorks painting and design studio is located just down the street.
