Enjoy the beauty of Skylands Manor with garden club note cards

Ringwood E-mail and texting can’t hold a candle to a handwritten note on a beautiful note card. And who better than the Ringwood Garden Club to provide them. Pam Tokarczuk, president of Ringwood Garden Club, announced a new fundraiser for the club, which features a selection of note cards with photographs of Skylands Manor that include a box of Stained Glass Medallions, a box of Views of Skylands and a box of Holiday Trees which were featured at the Holiday Open House held at Skylands Manor. All photographs were taken on site by a club member. Ringwood Public Library is featuring the note cards in their display case, as well as a number of awards the garden club garnered from The Garden Club of New Jersey. Other garden club news The Ringwood Garden Club opened its new club year with a Painting on Silk workshop led by Phylis Barfoot. Members learned how to paint on silk in the “Serti” style. Gerry Manzi received a letter from Richard L. Mariconda, director of the Wanaque Library, thanking the club for the two autumn wreaths placed at the front doors of the Wanaque Library and the silk flower arrangement for the Adult Reading Room. Tokarczuk welcomed two new members to the club, Catherine Barbier and Janet Mahoney. Renate Gudat and Barbara Sanford, chairmen, conducted a horticulture therapy session at Van Dyk Assisted Living. Fresh arrangements were made by residents under the direction of members of the garden club and the Master Gardener’s of Passaic County. Since Lakeland Health Care Facility cancelled the scheduled therapy session because of H1N1 virus, the garden club members made 30 fresh arrangements and delivered them to the residents there. Lois Robertson collected food donations from members for a Thanksgiving Basket which was delivered to the Center for Food Action.
