| 29 Sep 2011 | 03:32

Lake Hopatcong — The Nerds, a popular band from the Jersey shore, will perform at the Camp Jefferson Amphitheatre on Saturday, July 25 (rain date July 26). The concert starts at 5 p.m. The Nerds play well-known songs originated by other bands, so the styles can range from Barry Manilow to Poison. They’ve played small parties and celebrity weddings, opened for Bruce Springsteen, and packed the house at Carnegie Hall. When they take the stage at the amphitheatre fans can expect their trademark plaid shirts, hiked-up pants and plastic glasses. Parking is free. Food, beverages, and homemade ice cream are available. A non-smoking and alcohol-free venue, the ampitheatre is located at 81 Weldon Road, in Lake Hopatcong. This event is part of the Jefferson Highlights 2009 Summer Concert Series presenting seven all-ages family concerts on Saturdays through Aug. 29. Tickets prices: adults/$20, seniors (60 and over) and children (up to 15)/$10, children through age 7 are free, when accompanied by a ticket-holding parent/guardian.
