Fundraiser features concert and old car show

Franklin — Country/rock artist Rachel Allyn will perform at the John Wright Memorial Scholarship fundraiser on Sunday, July 12, at the Franklin American Legion Outdoor Pavilion. One of the first scholarship recipients, Allyn will perform popular cover songs, as well as original material, with a full band. She just finished producing her first CD titled “Late Nights and Early Mornings.” It may be purchased at Johnny Angel in Lafayette or at the fundraiser concert. The event, which will run from 2 to 6 p.m., will also include an old car show. Event organizers said, “Bring your friends, family and lawn chairs.” Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available for purchase. There will be a cash bar. Tickets are $10 per person.
