Gallery 23 exhibits Artists of the Month

Blairstown — Sheila Grodsky and Catherine Marchant will exhibit their work at Gallery 23 throughout March. The public is invited to a reception in their honor on Saturday, March 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. Grodsky is known for her contemporary paintings in acrylic and watercolor. She received the Dagmar Tribble Memorial award for her painting “Sacred Rock” at the 39th annual juried exhibition of the Garden State Watercolor Society in 2008. A resident of Stillwater, Grodsky is a founding member of Gallery 23. She also exhibits her work at Artists at the Mill Gallery in Lafayette. Marchant, a resident of Westfield, specializes in one-of-a-kind, hand woven and knitted clothing, household linens and beaded jewelry. On display at the gallery is a beaded necklace, “Hot Flash Collar,” which she created as part of a series for breast cancer awareness. She teaches at the Newark Museum. Gallery 23, an artist co-op, is located at 23 Main Street, in Blairstown.
