Guitarist will play at SpringBoard Shoppes

NEWTON — The SpringBoard Shoppes will present guitarist Steve Conahay in an afternoon of live performance between 2 and 4 p.m., on Saturday, April 18. Conahay is the founder of Doc Fry Music, an open forum for musicians and artists in an “open mic” format, on the second Saturday evening of each month in Warwick, N.Y. For his debut at the Shoppes, Conahay will perform music by Michael Hedges who recorded on the Windham Hill label and was known as the “guitarist from another planet,” due to his unusual use of alternate tunings and distinctive playing style.
