Smiling Rhino Theatre presents Shakespeare’s most famous love story this weekend Pompton Lakes — Eva Hajek from Hewitt directs Smiling Rhino Theatre’s presentation of Romeo and Juliet this weekend. Shows are tonight and Saturday, June 5 and 6, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m. William Shakespeare’s tragic tale of love and death involves Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, children of the houses of Montague and Capulet, sworn enemies. Romeo and Juliet meet at a party in the Capulet mansion and instantly fall in love Later that night they meet in the Capulet’s orchard, and plan to be married the next morning. Their union is made, but soon ruined, as Romeo slays Tybalt, and is banished from Verona. In a classic tragedy, everything goes wrong, and this is no different as the young lovers come to an unexpected and tragic end.
