Highland Lakes artists continue annual tradition

VERNON — The 56th consecutive Highland Lakes Professional Artists’ Show and Reception, was held in the Lake Room of the clubhouse on Saturday.

This year’s featured professional artists were: Joan Bono, Terie Bono, Carol Chave, Dennis Dalelio, Kristin Dalelio, Carole Fortenbach, Tom Gargiulo, Rob Haley, Chris Hollis, Marcia Letizia, Dawn McLaughlin, Winnie O’Dougherty, Philip Pearlstein, Rick Perez, Michael Preston, Joan Ross, Stephanie Roth, Lois Semanek, Ellen Van Howling, Jill Wallace, Agatha Wyman (Featured Guest Artist), and Bruce Young.

“In Remembrance” of Dawn LaGreca, there was a sugar art flowers display. LaGreca died in January of this year. She had displayed her sugar art at the at show many times over the years. According to organizer Dawn McLaughlin, LaGreca lived in Highland Lakes for a long time and grew up in the community. LaGreca was a member of the Henninger family, one of the longtime families in the community. Her family members brought in the work LaGreca had bequeathed to them.
