Historian Stephen M. Gross reveals the story behind one of Greenwood Lake's greatest natural resources: Ice

Greenwood Lake - The Greenwood Lake Public Library’s Learn @ Your Library lecture series presents “The Big Freeze—A History of Ice Harvesting on Greenwood Lake” with historian Stephen M. Gross on Thursday, Feb. 5, from 7-9 p.m. At one time, ice was one of Greenwood Lake’s greatest natural resources. To coincide with this lecture, Gross will also exhibit his antique ice harvesting equipment and related historical photos and documents in the Collectible Series display cases now through Thursday, Feb. 5. Adults and young adults (grades 7 and up) are invited to attend. There is limited seating and registration is required either in person or by telephone at 845-477-8377 Ext. 10.
