Hot kids group ‘Hot Peas ‘N Butter' to appear at SCCC May 16

    SUSSEX — Winners of the 2006 and the 2008 “Parent’s Choice Awards,” “Hot Peas ‘N Butter,” a children’s musical group incorporating elements of traditional Latin music, will perform at the Performing Arts Center at Sussex County Community College on Saturday, May 16 at 3:30 p.m. By combining “an interactive, invigorating approach to performance with mature, multicultural music, Hot Peas ‘N Butter has developed a distinct way of inspiring care and creativity in kids and adults alike,” said event organizers. The group’s videos, “Number 1” and “Deep Down” have appeared on the Nickelodeon and Noggin channels. The cast of “Hot Peas ‘N Butter” is comprised of Danny Lapidus, Francisco J. Cotto, Rich Mercurio, Oz Noy, Jorge “Georgie” Vazquez, and Alize Roig-Hernandez. A new partner to St. Jude’s Trike-A-Thon, Hot Peas ‘N Butter composed and performed “Different Spokes for Different Folks,” a special song and video about riding safety and helped raise $2.6 million dollars over the previous $7.3 million St. Jude raised in 2006.
