Husband and wife duo puts on benefit

SPARTA A fundraiser concert by husband and wife duo John and Sasha Korczynski will be held Nov. 21 at 3 p.m. to benefit Calvary Christian Academy/Calvary Baptist Church. The pair operate a branch of the Sussex County Music Workshop in Sparta, where they offer lessons in violin, cello, voice and piano. Sasha Korczynski and Sussex County Music Workshop co-founder Margaret Korczynski also offer violin and piano lessons to students at Calvary Christian Academy. John Korczynski is a 2006 Manhattan School of Music graduate, where he received a degree in piano performance. His his wife received a bachelor’s degree from Barnard College, also in 2006, during which time she studied violin at the Manhattan School of Music. The husband and wife musicians perform throughout the tristate area, both together and within larger ensembles. The inaugural performance in Warwick will open a new chapter for this duo. They are also working to start a chamber music society in their hometown, as well as expand the Music Workshop to offer instruction in all instruments.
