The Friends of the Sussex-Wantage Library will host a free performance by John Sheehan at the library’s outdoor theater on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 6 p.m.
The popular acoustic guitarist will headline the second concert in the Friends’ three-week concert series, “Thursdays at the Amp.”
John Sheehan, an award-winning singer-songwriter from Ringwood, is a legendary proponent of the finger-picking style of playing the guitar that he has performed at festivals, stages and other venues in the tri-state region. He has recorded several albums, and his compositions provide the soundtrack for a variety of videos.
For “Thursdays at the Amp,” he will perform an acoustic mix of classic rock, folk tunes and original songs and instrumentals.
Free tickets for the performance will be available beginning Thursday, Aug. 18. Stop by the Sussex-Wantage Library (69 Route 639, Wantage) to pick up your tickets, or call 973-875-3940 and ask for some to be set aside in your name. All remaining tickets will be available at the performance.
Bring your own blankets and chairs. All children must be accompanied by an adult. In case of bad weather, the program will be held indoors. For further information, please visit the Friends’ website: friendsofswlibrary.org. To learn more about John Sheehan, visit his website www.johnsheehan.net.
