Junior Zookeeper Day set for Space Farms

Sussex — Zoologist Lori Space Day will teach children about being zookeepers at Space Farms Zoo on Saturday, July 25, from noon to 3 p.m. This year’s Junior Zookeeper Day will feature the tiger, American buffalo, Assateague ponies and the nursery animals. Day will shepherd the participating children around the zoo to learn and take part in zoo-keeping activities. The junior zookeepers will also participate in animal enrichment programs for many of the species at the zoo. Parker Space, co-owner of the zoo with his father, Fred Space, will give a lecture on native New Jersey snakes followed by a special kid-friendly snake demonstration. Participating children will receive a Junior Zookeeper Certificate at the end of the program. Space Farms Zoo and Museum is located at 218 Route 519 in Sussex.
