Ogdensburg — Photographer Paul Michael Kane of Ogdensburg has just released a new collection of images entitled “Fort Mifflin: The Fort that Saved America.” Kane has collected 28 new images of the historic Revolutionary War-era location, in this first of what he is calling his “folio” editions. “I am very proud of this particular body of work,” Kane said. “But I am even happier that this folio edition, in its own small way, will help save this treasured piece of American history.” Fort Mifflin is credited with holding off the British Invasion Fleet, allowing General George Washington to pull back and regroup his battalion at Valley Forge. A good portion of the initial print run of “Fort Mifflin” was donated to the on-site museum at the fort. Kane plans on a quarterly release of new books and he is hard at work on the next one, due out this summer, featuring the Lakota Wolf Preserve. Last year, 88 of Kane’s images were featured in a deck of paranormal cards called Konxari Cards and he released his first book of photography, “Captured: The Ruins of Eastern State Penitentiary.” He is also a graphic designer and writer. His designs have been seen on novels, comic books and even a Star Wars Movie poster. He’s written for such publications as the International Writers Open Forum and Art Scene International.
