Sparta — Fourteen local piano pupils from the class of Margaret Korczynski, owner of the Sussex County Music Workshop, recently performed in the National Piano-Playing Auditions in Sparta. This nationwide event is coordinated by the American College of Musicians in Texas. Samuel Resenfeld, a juror assigned by the organization, adjudicated over 100 students from northern New Jersey. Entrants were given a very thorough evaluation of their pieces. Margaret Korczynski has been a member of this organization for the last 25 years and a chair person for the Sparta center for the last 15 years. As a teacher she values this event, since the constructive criticism of the judge supports her method of detailed teaching. The local entrants were Suje Choe, Olivia Coyle, Ryan Fieldhouse, Alex Kochman, Philip Kochman, Kristen McCormack, Eileen Mitchell, Anna Murphy, Maya Rakoczy, Clint Roe, Mikhaila Sanchez, Grace Shimeall, Siena Tipton and Kasia Wawer.
