Museum hosts local artist in Reminisce Series
West Milford Stop by the West Milford Museum while you are out enjoying the Autumn Lights Festival for a wonderful program by Barbara VanDerSluys, a local artist. It takes place on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. VanDerSluys, a former resident of Hewitt, will exhibit paintings of historic sites from her private collection, display photographs and memorabilia, and reflect on her life growing up in the “Wanaque Valley.” Her reflections include fascinating accounts about Greenwood Lake, Hewitt, and Ringwood. This program is part of the museum’s continuing Reminisce Series, which provides an opportunity for local long time residents to share personal accounts about life in West Milford during the 20th Century. This presentation is free and open to the public. If you are interested in local history, you won’t want to miss this very special event. The West Milford Museum is ADA accessible.
