Musical group toots own horn

Harmony in Motion, the local chapter of Harmony, Inc., is a group of barbershop-style women singers who gather weekly to rehearse, share their love of music and to renew bonds of friendship formed in this group. The group has designated the week of Feb. 8 to 14 Harmony in Motion awareness week ‘to spread the word about the group’ and to invite other women to join. Reading music is not a requirement and teaching CDs are provided. During performances, costumes and choreography help to add a create a ‘pleasing visual effect,’ organizers say. The chorus performs at community indoor and outdoor events and has produced a number of original shows. The group meets at 7 p.m. at Bristol Glen, located at mile marker 108 on Route 206, south of Newton. For information, call 973-875-9264.
