National talent search seeks entrants

    Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM) has launched the “Fame National Talent Search” to coincide with the upcoming film release set to open in theaters on Sept. 25 and is seeking area participation. MGM officials are looking to give the most-talented actors, singers, musicians, and dancers in the nation their shot at fame. Contestants can enter by auditioning at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey on Saturday, Aug. 8 (registration begins at 9:30 a.m.) Local semi-finals will be held on Sunday, Aug. 9 starting at 3 p.m. One grand-prize winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize; photo spread in OK! Magazine; A five day trip to Hollywood; meet with a talent agent and studio executives; and be part of the Fame DVD. Contestants can also upload a video entry via MySpace.com/fame. Seven finalists (six Six Flags winners and one MySpace winner) will compete in the finals at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles on Saturday, Sept. 5.
