New York Funk Exchange comes to Stanhope

STANHOPE — Nine piece funk-soul band New York Funk Exchange will be performing songs from new sophomore EP "This Is Your Brain On Funk" in Stanhope on March 20.

NYFE draws inspiration from legendary acts such as James Brown, Michael Jackson, Lettuce, Jill Scott and De la Soul on this newest compilation.

Good Times Magazine described the band as "an overwhelmingly refreshing change from the typical stuck-in-the-70s 'Tower Of Power' Clone big bands dotting the area landscape."

Recreating a modern mix of soul, funk, jazz and R&B, NYFE will be giving an energetic performance.

The Stanhope House is located at 45 Main Street in Stanhope. Doors open at 6 p.m.
