Dorothy Henry: Thursday, Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. Cup #1 Tea Party One Book/One Community of Sussex County is sponsoring a Cup #1 Tea Party at two branches to celebrate “Three Cups of Tea,” by Greg Mortensen, this year’s OB/OC title. The picture book adaptation of the chosen title, “Listen to the Wind,” will be read aloud and a short DVD will be shown, followed by the serving of tea and other activities. Open to the whole family. LEGO Club Starting this January the Main Library will be hosting a LEGO® Club for children in grades 1 through 6. Anyone who would like to donate LEGOs for this program should bring them to the main library only (125 Morris Turnpike in Frankford). Teen programs Just Us Teens Book Club Like to get together with others your age? Then come to the Just Us Teens Book Club. The club meets the third Wednesday of each month and for November there’s a New Moon movie release party. Open to teens entering grades 7-12. No registration required. His music covers a number of genres in the electronic and acoustic fields. This performance will focus on acoustic fingerstyle pieces in unique tunings on various 6 and 12 string guitars. The daughters of a ruthlessly ambitious family, Mary and Anne Boleyn, are sent to the court of Henry VIII to attract the attention of the king, who first takes Mary as his mistress, in which role she bears him an illegitimate son, and then Anne as his wife. All adults welcome, no registration required. Main Library: Thursday, Nov. 12, 7-8 p.m. Mommy & Me Yoga Regina from Tristate Yoga in Augusta, will hold a postpartum yoga class in which you practice yoga with your baby. Moms will learn how to strengthen their abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, gain inner strength and reclaim their bodies after giving birth. It is also an opportunity to meet other new moms. Class is open to moms and their babies, six weeks to crawling. Registration required. Main library: Friday, Nov. 13, 11 a.m. to noon AARP Defensive Driving This eight hour classroom refresher is specially designed to meet the needs of drivers ages 50 and over. Students will update their knowledge and skills, and learn to prevent crashes and violations which helps maintain mobility and independence. All attendees completing both sessions will be eligible for up to a 5 percent discount on insurance and a 2-point deduction from their driving record. Note the price change - the cost is now $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. All checks should be made payable to “AARP.” Don’t forget to bring a bag lunch. Registration required.
