SUSSEX The Friends of High Point State Park will host its annual free Open Hearth Cooking Day on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Interpretive Center at High Point State Park. Cooking demonstrations will be ongoing throughout the day, so visitors are encouraged to stop by at any time and taste a sample of the food that has just come off the hearth. A variety of foods will be prepared, including snacks, soups, meats, and desserts. There will also be cider pressing demonstrations at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Donations are appreciated.
