Players prepare for hilarious Christie spoof
West Milford The West Milford Players are holding auditions for their winter show, Murdered To Death. This hilarious spoof of Agatha Christie’s mysteries is set in a country manor house with a cast of characters guaranteed to delight. Will the murderer be unmasked before everyone has met their fate, or will the audience die laughing first? Five men and five women are needed for the cast, which includes: Mildred, 50-60 years old, wealthy owner of country manor house, slightly scheming; Dorothy, 20-40, Mildred’s niece, companion and housekeeper, reticent; Bunting, 50+, typical English butler, slightly menacing, irritating; Margaret Craddock, 45-60, accommodating Col. Charles Craddock, 45-60, confident, blustering, stiff upper lip; Pierre Marceau, 30+, exaggerated French accent, shady art dealer; Elizabeth Hartley-Trumpington, 20-35, attractive, society accent; Joan Maple, 50+, well-meaning village sleuth, “Miss Marple” character; Constable Thomkins, 20-30, village policeman, agile; Inspector Pratt, 40-55, posing, walking disaster, bumbling, “Inspector Clouseau” type Auditions will be held at the Hillcrest Community Center, 1810 Macopin Road, West Milford. Audition dates are Nov. 16, 23 and 30 from 7-10 p.m., and Nov. 29 from 1-5 p.m. Show dates are Feb. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 2010.
