Sale will help injured local man
Highland Lakes Friends and family of Lou Cimaglia have stepped up their fundraising efforts to help raise money for recuperative therapy that is not covered by his insurance. Cimaglia is a 23-year-old Vernon resident who was involved in a serious car accident last November while attending graduate school for a social work degree. As a result of the accident he has sustained traumatic brain injury (TBI) and is in need of medical assistance and therapy. Many area residents know him and many others have come out for events on his behalf during these last months. A statement from those coordinating the latest event: Shopping for Lou, reads: “Lou is a wonderful young man who had a very bright future ahead of him. He is kind, caring and compassionate, a true friend to everyone he met. Sadly, his life is on hold while he recovers from his devastating injury. In order for Lou to resume his life he needs intense therapy therapy that is not covered by insurance. Join us for a good time and a worthy cause while enjoying an evening of shopping, socializing and sweet treats. A number of area vendors are contributing to the shopping event, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Breakneck Road. Vendors include: At Home America, Lia Sophia jewelry, Mary Kay cosmetics, Party-Lite Candles, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, and others including crafters who create T-shirts, crocheted items and pet wear. For those who cannot attend but want to make a donation, mail checks to the Cimaglia Family Healing Fund, PO Box 382, McAfee, NJ 07428.
