SPARTA — Blessed Kateri will hold its annual talent show next Friday and Saturday night in McKenna Hall, at the Revered Brown School. The show, which debuted in 2004, was the brainchild of the Revered Albert Nix. New to the congregation, Nix thought a talent show performed by parishioners would bring the parish together and provide a good time and many laughs for all. The distinguished Father Nix has even performed an Irish Step dance in past performances and is scheduled to hit some high notes in this years performance. This year’s show will feature live music from, Equinox, a favorite local band, joined by Chris Arnold on the trumpet and saxophone. Performances will also include a professional magician, The Magic Garsetti, and Marc and Audri Dalio, who have performed on many a Broadway stage. Their credits include the shows Beauty and the Beast, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, and the King and I. The couple will sing a duet from the hit show “Spamalot.” Pat O’Mally, the show’s producer, and Angela Camack, choreographer expect this year’s show will result in audience participation with the crowd dancing to some toe-tapping ditties, and singing along with many favorite tunes. “We have our usual cast of characters-singers, dancers, and comedians,” said Melissa O’Malley, committee member and PR person for the group. “One of the annual crowd pleasers has been a surprise performance by the parish’s own Father Tom Fallone and sidekick Al Saveriano. We do not know if they have planned one of their Beatnik Acts or not ... it’s always a surprise.” Cookies, cakes and other home baked goods will be served along with coffee, tea, and soda. This is a B.Y.O.B. function and ice will be provided. Lucky audience members may go home with a Thanksgiving turkey. There will be door prizes from local merchants including Panera, Plaza Bistro, Casa Mia, The Mexican Place, Dunkin’ Donuts, Cracker Barrel and many more. Pre-show tickets are selling for $15 or two for $25. Tickets will be sold at the door for $20 or two for $30. “The entire parish gets involved with the ticket sales, decorating, baking, and doing whatever needs to be done to make the show the yearly success it has become,” said O’Malley. “It’s all about community — supporting each other, celebrating one another and all having a good time together.”
