Snowboard film hits Sussex County

    VERNON-On Sept. 30, Mountain Creek and Bonfire will host the New York City premier of Robot Food's latest snowboarding film, "Afterlame," which is currently on a successful nine-stop premier tour across the US. Afterlame, the third film from Robot Food, was sponsored by Bonfire, Capita, Salomon, K2, Smith, DC, 686, Nemo, Snowboarder Magazine, Dakine, Agency, and Ally Distribution. The riders featured in the film include David Benedek, Louie Fountain, Travis Parker, Bobby Meeks, Christoph Weber, Josh Dirksen, Charlie Morace, Giom Morisset, Chris Engelsman, Scotty Arnold, Jakob Wilhelmson and Hampus Mosesson. The film will premier at Spirit NYC (520 West 27th St.).  The film will begin at 9 p.m., and tickets are available for $5 at the door.  There will also be a free raffle for Bonfire product and six Mountain Creek season passes with a ticket stub.  The after party featuring DJ Kid Capri will kick off at 10 p.m. For every ticket sold, $2 will be donated to Boarding for Breast Cancer, a non-profit; youth focused organization focusing on breast cancer awareness and education. (www.b4bc.org). Previous stops included Boston, Salt Lake City, Portland, Santa Monica, Bellevue and Seattle, and the tour will conclude on Oct. 1 in Orem, at the Utah Valley State College. Robot Food is a coalition of filmmakers and riders who have worked together for three years to produce snowboarding's most anticipated titles. Each movie has pushed to progress the sport.
