Hewitt - Our Lady Queen of Peace music ministry will be presenting a performance of Marty Haugen’s “Song of Mark” on Sunday, March 29, at 3 p.m. in the church. This contemporary musical adaptation of the Gospel of Mark features musicians and choir members from local church communities, as well as members of Queen of Peace’s adult and children’s choirs. Some of the performers include Ted Hajek as “Jesus,” Dan Janelli as “Peter,” and Deacon Vidal Gonzales as “John the Baptist.” Music direction is by Eva Muray-Hajek and choral direction is by Ted Hajek. Musicians include Fr. Jamie Bono on drums and Rick DeYoung on guitar. This special concert is part of the church’s Lenten celebration and is especially important this year as the current liturgical readings are based on the Gospel of Mark. In lieu of tickets being sold, anyone attending this concert is asked to bring a donation of non-perishable goods to help restock the food pantry at the church. Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is located at 1911 Union Valley Road in the Hewitt section of West Milford. For more information, please contact the parish office at 973-728-8162, ext. 302.
