SPARTA — On Saturday, May 30, the Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta, together with the Sparta Parks and Recreation Department, will be hosting the 34th annual Sparta Day. Historically, this event was held in June. At the request of many vendors and community members, Sparta Day will now be held on the Saturday following Memorial Day. Sparta Day is a family event that attracts thousands of people from Sparta and neighboring communities. It is a vendor/craft fair and festival that has become not only a fundraiser for local charities, but also a much-anticipated community service. This year, the Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta plans on having rides, entertainment, food and over 100 vendors. The event will be held on the grounds of the Mohawk Avenue School and Sparta Public Library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine. Vendor booth space is available and discounted pricing is being offered to early registrants until March 31. Interested vendors can either download the forms from the Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta Web site at www.jwcsparta.org or call 973-300-7309 and leave a message. The Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta is celebrating its 42nd year. The club’s mission is to bring socially conscious women together to help make the community and the world better places in which to live. Members are dedicated to community involvement through volunteer service.
