Special Olympics celebrate hockey weekend

    Hockey Weekend Across America will take place Jan. 20 - 31, 2010. The effort is aimed at two major objectives with a weekend of events at the local and national level to promote hockey. Skylands Ice World is proud to be part of this event, offering the following: Friday 1/29/10 - Wear your Favorite Hockey Jersey to School, then wear it to Skylands Ice World receive a free fountain soda from our snack bar. We will have off ice fun in Club 23 at 6 PM-8PM, play knee hockey, watch a free movie & receive a free Skylands Ice World Tee Shirt. Saturday 1/30/10 - Bring a Friend to the Rink Day - Bring your friend to the rink, wear your favorite hockey jersey, buy one admission receive one admission free. At 10 AM we will hold a Free Girls Clinic (Lady Kings) - register now with a friend and receive $10.00 off your next hockey clinic. At 11 am we will hold a Free Youth Clinic, every ice rink in the US will be holding a free session at 11 AM. Sunday 1/31/10 - We will be nominating local Hockey Heroes that have gone above and beyond to promote the great sport of hockey. We are also honored to host the Special Olympics Figure & Speed Skating Competition on Feb. 2, 2010. The competition will start at 10am and run throughout the day ending with Awards. All events are free to the public who are encouraged to come out and cheer on the competitors.
