St. Thomas’ Church presents guitarist/composer

The community gathering room at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church was packed Saturday evening for a casual journey into “The Guitar In America” as presented by guitarist/composer Peter Griggs.

The international performer used a medley of songs to trace the history of the guitar in the United States. Spanning hundreds of years of music from 16th century Greensleeves to a composition by 20th-century composer Thelonious Monk.

According to Griggs, he has presented more than 500 solo guitar concerts throughout the United States and Europe.

The Vernon concert was presented “cabaret style” with comfortable tables seating eight each, arranged across the room.
