Summer activities available at Project Self-Sufficiency
Newton The Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency will host two separate, week-long activities in July: one targeted to children and one to middle school girls. Children ages 4 to 8 are invited to participate in “Project Vacation: A Journey to Africa,” from Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to noon. The camp will highlight the history, art, geography and cuisine found throughout Africa. The fee is $10 per child. Space is limited and registration is required. The agency will also offer the “Just for Girls Summer Camp” for girls entering 6th, 7th and 8th grade, from Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31. The camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours available for working parents. The camp will feature games, arts and crafts, music and other age-appropriate activities. The fee is $10 per child. Space is limited, and registration is required. All summer activities will take place at the Community Education Center, located at Project Self-Sufficiency, 127 Mill St. in Newton. To register or for more information call 973-940-3500.
