Sweet Adelines featured in summer concert series

Recently, Sweet Adelines chorus was the featured performer in a Summer Concert Series sponsored by Sussex County Community College. In spite of the threat of thunderstorms, more than 400 people gathered on the Green outside the Music Building on the campus to enjoy the program of four-part, a cappella music, with a patriotic theme. It was only after the concert, when the Green was clear of people, and chorus members were just entering the van for the ride back to the Music Building, that the skies opened up, and there was a deluge. Marie Notaro, performance coordinator, was told earlier in the day that the college never cancelled a concert because of weather and that “Somehow, it always works out.” The Chorus is hosting its own series of Open House Rehearsals at the Mulberry House Senior Center, in Middletown, N.Y. All women who like to sing are invited to stop by any Tuesday in August and September, at 7:15 p.m., to participate in rehearsals. For information or show tickets, call 845-496-7573 or 845-446-4345.
