Take a step back in time at Coursens

    FREDON — There will be a living history day at Coursen House this Saturday. Keepers of Coursens Corners will hold a celebration and living history day on June 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Col. John Coursen Homestead, 8 Stillwater Rd., Fredon (located at the entrance to Lodestar Park). Activities will include a Civil War encampment. There will be an open house and tours demonstrations of hearth cooking and beehive baking, wood carving, spinning and weaving, cheese making and an environmental program. Patrons can join in singing, children’s games, pet show, bake sale, Yankee peddler and more Admission is adults $5; children over 5 years $3 (group rates available).
