Talk on tree planting techniques

Newton — A free lecture on fall tree planting techniques will be offered on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m., at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension office. Rutgers Horticultural Program Associate Brian Oleksak will discuss site considerations, soil amendments, planting techniques and issues related to proper aftercare for trees and shrubs. The presentation will include a discussion of common tree planting mistakes and potential hazards to tree health. The office is located at 129 Morris Turnpike, in Newton.
