The family that juggles together

WANTAGE — It's a family affair. Eleanor, Martin and John Larsen of Wantage share the same hobby. They all do Fire Poi and torch juggling. Eleanor Larsen, although legally blind, has been demonstrating fire poi over eight years. She says that spinning and dance moves are an art form that comes from the Maori women. Poi was first used for combat and strength training and slowly turned into a dance of beauty and art form, she says.

The Larsen family gave a demonstration of their art at a friend's house in Wantage on a recent evening.
