Sparta — People Help SC is appealing to all county residents to give to this year’s Christmas Basket Program. Every year in December, People Help of SC, in conjunction with the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta and the Sparta Ecumenical Council, have had a program which has given the needy folks in Sussex County holiday bags of food, a turkey and toys for their children. Due to budgetary issues, NORWESCAP is unable to provide turkeys this year and donations are down. Food, monetary donations (made out to the First Presbyterian Church and marked for Food Pantry) and toys will be gratefully received. Food and toys can be dropped off at the church at 32 Main St., Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. For more info call 973-729-6197.
