The Play of Shadows' book signing

Author and Sussex resident Deborah Habbart will sign copies of her new book, “The Play of Shadows” on Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council at 137 Spring Street, Newton. The book chronicles struggles of Elise Erickson, whose young life is divided between her career and the man who had taught her. When the balance tips without warning, she fills the void with what remains and commits to it solely no matter what the cost. Elise locks herself into that life for 14 years until one circumstance on an ordinary day shifts her paradigm and that vision becomes her release.
